Free Street Theater teaches acting and creative writing skills to youth so they can open their potential to be creative, active participants in their own lives.

Since 1969, Free Street Theater has been creating original performances to inspire new artists and new audiences.

Dear Free Street,
You’ve given me a new vocabulary. You gave me new goals in life, not just in acting. You’ve shown me that I want things that I never knew existed -an inspired life. There are things that I thought I wanted in my life and am now re-thinking (fame). You’ve shown me not just how to “act” but to react, and live life in a way, by applying this idea. I just thought of something else. You’ve taught me to take risks, be real, play within the boundaries and to sometimes break them. I love Free Street for that. -Tina Powel
